his life
Born 1948 in Vienna, he spent his youth in the trees of the Vienna Forrest, later the young man went west to perfect his skiing skills in Kitzbühel and Saalfelden. High school saw him back in Vienna, preparing him for the Vienna University of Technology. There Klaus attempted to understand the laws governing the universe (MSc in Physics) and how the world machine functions (PhD in Mechanical Engineering).
His wife Carolyn unsuccessfully tried to americanize him. They still live north of Vienna, where they raised two lovely daughters together.
Klaus worked as a Senior Expert in the Oil and Gas Industrie, as well as the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Business and recreational trips led him to 55 countries in five continents.
Besides his main passion, skiing, Klaus became three times Austrian champion in tack and field during his time at university. Before tuning 60, he finished three marathons. Klaus enjoyed the view from two 5000m (Kilimanjaro, Elbrus) and ten 4000m peaks.
